Program Highlights:
The program here at WSSU is aligned with our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program. Therefore individuals who complete the NC Teach program will be able to move seamlessly onto the MAT and complete the requirements for a master’s degree.  

WSSU is a commuter friendly campus in the heart of Winston-Salem. The NC Teach program at WSSU builds upon the University’s historic background of providing the community, and the nation, with highly qualified teachers who are committed to making a difference in their students’ lives. 

Estimated Program Cost:
The cost of the program is approximately $4,500 plus fees, for in-state students. However, this does not include the cost of prerequisite additional coursework if needed. $40 application fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree and GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited college or university in a related degree to your area of certification
  • Have a minimum of three years work experience
  • To qualify for an A level teacher certification, candidates are required to teach in their area of certification in a NC public school for a minimum of one term
