Program Highlights:

North Carolina A&T's membership in the Council of Graduate Schools - the largest national association organized specifically to advance graduate education in the United States and abroad - places it in the company of the finest institution of higher education in the world. From the heritage of its academia to the bond of its school pride, A & T is a source of inspiration which will always endure. Spread over 188 beautiful acres at the center of North Carolina's Piedmont, A&T's campus is just 9 blocks from downtown Greensboro. Well-known for its quality of life, the area's mix of industry with schools and universities contributes to its economic and cultural diversity.

NC A&T's School of Education has selected as its program theme "The Professional Educator: A Catalyst for Learning". From this theme, a conceptual framework has been developed which includes a rationale and organizing principles that guide the development of the curriculum for professional education including the categorization of knowledge.

The School of Education vision, mission, and dispositions emerge directly from the university's mission. We strive to transmit a cultural experience for our candidates to be transformed into catalysts for learning. Candidates learn to create their own learning from the experiences of the faculty, curricula and field experience opportunities, and other educational leaders. The university's standards are Diversity, Assessment, Reflection and Technology.
